OWN CANCELS "THE ROSIE SHOW"

Released by Miss

The OWN network has decided to cancel the "The Rosie Show" after just five months.  To be very honest I actually  enjoyed show and never missed an episode, and this coming from someone who had never watched anything with Rosie, besides a couple of episodes of the "The View".  I  thought the new format of the one on one interview was so much better than the original format with the audience participation, the band, the games and anything else the producers could fit into an already packed hour.

I hope to see Rosie O'Donnell  real soon, because she now has a new fan in Miss TV Girl.

The last episode will tape on Tuesday, March 20th and air Friday, March 30th.

Here's the press release with all of the details:

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today "The Rosie Show," the daily talk show hosted by Emmy Award-winning actress and comedian Rosie O'Donnell, will tape its final show on Tuesday, March 20, and the final episode will air on Friday, March 30 (7-8 p.m. ET/PT).

"I thank Rosie from the bottom of my heart for joining me on this journey. She has been an incredible partner, working to deliver the best possible show every single day," said Oprah Winfrey. "As I have learned in the last 15 months, a new network launch is always a challenge and ratings grow over time as you continue to gather an audience. I'm grateful to Rosie and the dedicated Rosie Show team for giving it their all."

"I loved working with Oprah in the amazing city of Chicago," said Rosie O'Donnell. "I was welcomed with open arms and will never forget the kindness of all I encountered. It was a great year for me - I wish the show was able to attract more viewers - but it did not. So I am headed back to my home in New York - with gratitude. On we go!"
