"FLASHFORWARD" DVD COMING IN FEBRUARY

Here's an interesting tactic: releasing a DVD set for a show smack dab* in the middle of the first season.

Disney/ABC has announced that they will release FlashForward: Volume 1 on February 26. That's "Volume 1" and not "Season 1," because the season isn't over yet. This release will come a week before the show returns to the network on March 4 to finish out the first season (with the big event that affects the entire world happening on April 10).

Looks like they're trying to get the attention of viewers before the show returns and maybe get people to buy the DVD set so they can get caught up on what has happened so far (and be reminded of what has happened so far - four months is a long time to wait when you have a first season show that isn't a ratings hit). Glee is doing this too, but I can see people buying that.

Couldn't they just have a marathon of the episodes a few days before it comes back? I'm really curious to see how many people will jump at the chance of buying this.

* People don't use the phrase "smack dab" enough.

ABC PICKS UP OF "FLASH FORWARD" FOR FULL SEASON

ABC has picked up FlashForward for a full season, the network announced Monday.

The order comes on the heels of pickups for ABC's Cougar Town, Modern Family and The Middle.

The sci-fi series has been a solid performer in the 8 p.m. Thursday slot and is the season's top new drama.
FlashForward is the 4th new series to earn a full-season order  from ABC.

MICHAEL EALY CAST IN ABC'S "FLASH FORWARD"

Some good news for us Michael Ealy fans!!

Former "Sleeper Cell" star Michael Ealy will have a recurring part on "FlashForward," according to The Hollywood Reporter. He'll be playing the "nemesis" of FBI Agent Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes), who's investigating why everyone on the planet blacked out for 2 minutes, 17 seconds and the vision of the future he had while he was out.

DID "FLASH FORWARD" REVEAL A "LOST " CLUE

FlashForward has a big Lost connection, since there are stars from Lost in the new show and ABC hopes it takes Lost's place as the big mystery show on the network. But the premiere episode also had another connection: a possible clue for Lost's new season.

In the above pic you can see a billboard for Oceanic Air. If you look closely (bigger version here) you can see that it says "Perfect Safety Record." So that means that the bomb worked and the crash of Oceanic 815 never happened? Or does it mean something else?

GABRIELLE UNION JOINS "FAST FORWARD"

Gabrielle Union ("Bring it On," "Bad Boys II") is joining the cast of ABC's exciting new fall drama, "FlashForward," in a recurring role as Zoey, a criminal defense attorney who will have a romantic arc on the show. "FlashForward" premieres THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
