USA EXTENDS "BURN NOTICE," "ROYAL PAINS," EXPLAINS "IN PLAIN SIGHT" CUT

Released by USA

USA is giving "Burn Notice" and "Royal Pains" their longest seasons yet.

Both series are set to run 18 episodes this season with their summer finales (after 12 episodes) set for Thursday, August 26. Each will then return in the winter for their six remaining installments.

In addition, USA has provided the details behind its decision to wrap "In Plain Sight's" third season after 13 episodes:

"John McNamara, executive producer and showrunner of USA Network's IN PLAIN SIGHT, took a leave of absence for medical reasons," producer Universal Cable Productions said in a statement released to the site exclusively. "John Romano assumed executive producer responsibilities for the remaining episodes. Given the unexpected change, we decided to end the season at a natural spot -- with the surprising cliffhanger of episode 13."

Originally set for 16 installments, the current season will instead conclude Wednesday, June 30 at 10:00/9:00c.

CHECK THE OUT CAST OF "ROYAL PAINS" RAP MUSIC VIDEO

Released by Miss TV Girl

Let me start out by saying that I bailed on "Royal Pains" after maybe the sixth episode. Why? I just started to realize week after week that I didn't care anything about these characters and their stories.

But, after watching the below video I just might tune in Thursday, June 3, when "Royal Pains" returns for its second season. Henry Winkler joins the cast as the brothers long lost father.

This video is truly hilarious check out the committment from Winkler around 1:33. Also look for special appearances by Matt Bomer(White Collar) and Jeffrey Donovan(Burn Notice)

HENRY WINKLER SIGNS UP FOR RECURRING ROLE ON "ROYAL PAINS"

Released by Miss TV Girl

Henry Winkler ("Happy Days," "Arrested Development") will recur in season two of "Royal Pains", as Eddie R. Lawson, the absentee father to Hank and Evan. Season one concluded with a cliffhanger after Hank learned that their father had taken the majority of HankMed's funds.

Eddie arrives unannounced in the Hamptons, determined to reinsert himself into his sons' lives and make up for lost time. But his motives are unclear at best. He will have a considerable impact on HankMed, as Hank and Evan grow divided over whether family reunions are always something to celebrate.

Royal Pains has been picked up for a 18-episode second season.

USA RENEWS "BURN NOTICE" AND "ROYAL PAINS"

Released by Miss TV Girl

The summer's hottest cable series will be back.

USA Network has renewed its flagship action drama "Burn Notice" and breakout freshman hit "Royal Pains." Both series have been picked up for 16 more episodes.

The pickups come amid another sizzling summer for the basic cable network, which is wrapping up July as cable's most-watched network after finishing first during the second-quarter ratings race.

The Thursday combo of "Burn" and "Pains" has been the main reason for USA's ratings surge.

"Burn Notice," starring Jeffrey Donovan, is being picked up for a fourth season. The show it helped launch, the Mark Feuerstein-starring medical soap " RoyalPains," is being renewed for a second turn.
