"FRINGE" RENEWED FOR THIRD SEASON

Fans of the sci-fi drama Fringe can relax. Despite struggling on Thursday nights, the FOX series has been renewed for a third season.

Fringe follows a unique team that investigates unexplained and often horrific occurrences around the world. Performers include Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, John Noble, Lance Reddick, Jasika Nicole, Blair Brown, Mark Valley, Michael Cerveris, and Kirk Acevedo.

The series has been struggling since the move to Thursday nights. It’s averaged a 2.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and just 6.58 million viewers.

Though that’s an admirable performance when considering the competitive timeslot, a renewal from FOX wasn’t a sure thing. The third season order surely comes as a relief to the Fringe cast and crew that they’ll indeed be back next season. No word on how many episodes have been ordered but the remainder of season two will start running on April 1st.

What about the rest of FOX’s shows? Dollhouse and Past Life are cancelled and gone already. American Dad, Bones, The Cleveland Show, Family Guy, Glee, Hell’s Kitchen, The Simpsons, and So You Think You Can Dance have already been renewed. Now that Fringe has gotten a new season order, there are eight FOX series whose fate is still unknown.

American Idol and House are guaranteed pickups. Things are still up in the air however for 24, Human Target, Kitchen Nightmares, and Lie to Me.

Brothers is assumed to be cancelled. If ‘Til Death returns it will only be because either FOX has leftover episodes or the studio has once again made a great deal to keep making episodes for the syndication package.

FOX PULLS "FRINGE" FOR A SEVEN WEEK HIATUS

Horrible news for us "Fringe" fans!!!!!!!!!!

Sources confirm that FOX is putting "Fringe" -- which stars Joshua Jackson, John Noble and Anna Torv on a seven week hiatus.

The schedule has not yet been finalized but the network is expected to air its new midseason drama "Past Life" in "Fringe"'s Thursday timeslot starting Feb. 11.

"Fringe" would then return on Apr. 1 to finish out the second season with its seven remaining episodes.

WILL FOX CANCEL "FRINGE"?

I am really upset with the rumblings that are going around about "Fringe" possibly being in trouble of getting canceled.  I really enjoy watching this show and I hope FOX gives it the respect that it so deserves because this a great show.

That amazing entrance Olivia made on the second season premiere was enough to get a full season  pickup in my opinion. I understand that "Fringe does not offer up anything new in the way of sci-fi programming, but what makes it different is Olivia, Peter, and Walter.  These three characters and their known and unknown secrets are enough to keep anyone interested and tied to their tv sets waiting for what's going to happen next.

So, right now I will block out all of rumblings of a possible cancellation and sit back and wait for "fringe " to return on November 12
