DANNY PINO AND KELLI GIDDISH JOIN "LAW & ORDER:SVU"

Danny Pino and Kelli Giddish ave signed on as series regulars for season 13 of "Law & Order: SVU"

Pino (Cold Case) will replace Christopher Meloni  who left the show last month after contract negotiations went south.   Giddish(Chase) will fill in for Mariska Hargitay, who's reducing the number of episode"s she's appearing in this season.

I'm very pleased that we have two amazing actors joining the cast," "SVU" creator Dick Wolf says. "I know this combination will give us the opportunity to explore the world of 'SVU' with new eyes."

I am unfamiliar with Giddish's work, but I really enjoyed Pino on "Cold Case", looking forward to next season and seeing how all of these cast changes play out.

I guess those negotiations didn’t quite go his way.  Chris Meloni who has played the often loose cannon sex crimes Detective Stabler will not be returning for season 13.  Creator Dick Wolf , who we all know has no problem axing an actor and replacing them before you can  blink is already looking for a big name to bring in opposite series regular Mariska Hargitay.

The season 12 series ended with Meloni’s character being forced to kill an armed teenage girl who had opened fire on her mother’s murderer (among others) in the SVU squad room.  I am sure the trauma of that event will play heavily in explaining his departure .

MISCHA BARTON TO GUEST-STAR ON "LAW & ORDER:SVU IN MARCH

NBC has confirmed that Mischa Barton will guest-star of "Law & Order":SVU" on the March 3 episode.

Barton has been cast as a prostitute named Gladys.

I really believe that with Barton's recent  troubles, she should really consider taking some more positive roles.  Consider,the last character she played was a drugged out model on the cancelled CW series "Beautiful Life".

I know that it's just acting , but if your real life is filled with half of the drama that the public is led to believe, continuing to play such damaged characters can't be good for the spirit.
