MISS TV GIRL EMMY NOMINATIONS WISH LIST PART 5: BEST DRAMA AND COMEDY SERIES

The 62nd Primetime Emmy nominations will be announced Thursday, July 8 , so I thought I would reveal my list for who I think should receive some recognition.

Outstanding Drama Series

Dexter: Brilliant!!  Did you see that surprising season finale?

Justified: One of the best new shows to premiere this season

Lost: Never has a show refined the way we watch television

Damages : Continued to break ground with its storytelling and awesome cast.

Parenthood: The best family drama on tv

Supernatural : A great show admired year after year by the critics and devoted fans

Outstanding Comedy Series

 
  
  

Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Seinfeld reunion was hilarious

Glee:  Fun Fun and more Fun

Modern Family: Simply the best comedy on televison

Parks and Recreation : This show is like a bottle of fine wine, it just gets better with time 

The Middle: A very realistic look at a family trying to survive financially

The Office: The past season reminded the viewers of why we started and continue to watch year after year

Michael Emerson ( Lost): Continued to marvel in every scene

Walter Goggins ( Justified): Simply the best performance of the year

John Noble ( Fringe): The "Peter" episode was marvelous

Terry O'Quinn ( Lost): His transition from John Locke to the Man in Black/Smoke Monster was flawless

Zachary Quinto ( Heroes): He created the best villain in television history

John Lithgow( Dexter):Bad never looked so good

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series

  

  

Jennifer Carpenter ( Dexter): Her breakdown in the parking after Frank's murder was brilliant

Kelli Williams (Lie To Me) : Such a quiet strong performance

Sandra Oh ( Grey's Anatomy): She just keeps getting better and better

Monica Potter ( Parenthood) A beautifully restrained performance
Mae Whitman ( Parenthood):The most genuine and sincere performance of the season

Chandra Wilson ( Grey's Anatomy): Her scenes in the season finale were simply heartbreaking

Jensen Ackles(Supernatural): His performance this year was both heartbreaking and powerful.

Fred Weller(In Plain Sight): A smoothe and great performance

Matthew Fox (Lost): Delivered a  brilliant performance for his last year on the island

Michael C. Hall (Dexter) :Continues year after year to deliver a flawless perfromance

Peter Krause (Parenethood): His portrayal made you want more and more

Timothy Olyphant ( Justified): Such a strong and quiet performance rolled up in one.

Sally Fields ( Brothers and Sisters): A great and always deserving performance

Calista Flockhart (Brothers and Sisters):  Her storyline as the cancer stricken Kitty was brilliant

Lauren Graham ( Parenthood): A beautiful flawless performance

Evangeline Lilly ( Lost):  Her character is flawed, but not this performance

Julianne Margulies ( The Good Wife):   A great performance

Ellen Pompeo( Grey's Anatomy): Did you see the season finale?

Julie Bowen (Modern Family) : The straight woman to Ty Burrell's  is magnificent


Jenna Fisher ( The Office) : The one-hour wedding episode highlighted 
her amazing comedic timing


Jessalyn Gilsig ( Glee) : She took (really) wanting a baby to a whole another level


Jane Lynch (Glee) : Mean has never been so superbly executed

Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreations) : Who knew a facial expression could elicit such laughter

Sofia Vergara ( Modern Family) :  Brilliantly introduced us to a character unlike any other on tv

Ty Burrell (Modern Family) : And the Emmy goes to ...


Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family)  Just an awesomely crafted performance


John Krasinski ( The Office) Gives the best facial expressions ever, usually followed by a querky comment


Hamish Linklater ( The New Adventures of Old Christine) :  His ability to out shine Julie Louis-Dreyfus makes him worthy


Ed O'Neil (Modern Family) : His performance made us ask the question, "Al Bundy Who"?

Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family) His performance is just Fabulously

Alec Baldwin ( 30 Rock) : Baldwin continues to deliver a flawless perfornmance year after year

Steve Carell  (The Office)   The trials and tribulations of Dunder Mifflin allowed Carell to shine once again

Jay Harrington (Better off Dead): A great performance, that unfortunately a lot of people didn't see 

Joel McHale (Community): A pleasant surprise

Jim Parsons (Big Bang Theory): Such a funny and well deserving performance

Tony Shalhoub (Monk): There is simply no other choice after the two-part series finale

 Outstanding Lead Actress In a Comedy Series

  

    

Toni Collette (United States of Tara): Multiple personalities never looked so appealing

Julia Louis-Dreyfus (The New Adventures of Old Christine): She simply still has the chops to make you laugh.

Edie Falco ( Nurse Jackie): A great performancePatricia Heaton ( The Middle): Her interpretation of a modern day mother is spot on.

Mary- Louise Parker ( Weeds): The last season was a little ff for me, but her performance never        waivered

Amy Poehler ( Parks and Recreations) : She is simply the best thing about this show.
