SHARK TANK TO RETURN IN 2011 WITH JEFF FOXWORTHY

Reality series "Shark Tank" has been renewed for eight episodes. The reality series gives entrepreneurs the chance to pitch their ideas to a panel of major tycoons, or "sharks."

The original five sharks -- venture capitalist Kevin O'Leary, real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran, infomercial vet Kevin Harrington, tech millionaire Robert Herjavec, and FUBU owner Daymond John --- have all signed on to return.

There will be one new addition to the show when it returns in the fall , comedian Jeff Foxworthy. A self-made successful businessman in his own right, Foxworthy expanded his popular work in stand-up comedy into an empire of albums, books, hit comedy tours, and forays into television and radio. As an entrepreneur, he has a line of greeting cards and specialty products through American Greetings, a line of You Might Be A Redneck If....calendars, and a line of beef jerky and of barbeque sauces.

Foxworthy  will join the series for three of the eight hour-long episodes as judge.

ALANIS MORISSETTE AND JENNIFER JASON LEIGH RETURN FOR MORE "WEEDS"

Two very familiar faces return  for season 6 of "Weeds".

Jennifer Jason Leigh is set to reprise her role as Nancy’s older sister, Jill, in one episode, while Alanis Morissette is will return for two episodes as Nancy’s baby doc (and girlfriend to Andy).

Wanda De Jesus  and Regina King have joined the cast of "Law & Order: Los Angeles.

De Jesus , will play a Lieutenant who oversees the detectives, Hall will join the series as a beautiful-yet-brainy Assistant District Attorney.

CYNTHIA NIXON TO GUEST STAR ON "THE BIG C" IN MULTIPLE EPISODES ARC

The 44-year-old Emmy and Tony winner Cynthia Nixon will guest-star in four episodes of the Showtime's "The Big C". She'll play Rebecca, the long lost college roommate of Laura Linney's  character, Cathy, who comes back into her life and turns it upside down.

"The Big C" follows Cathy, a schoolteacher, wife and mother who's diagnosed with a fatal form of cancer and tries to reclaim her life.

The Big C premieres Monday, Aug. 16 .

"WEEDS" SEASON 6 TEASE

To be very honest my commitment and interest in the show has really wavered since the whole move to San Diego/Tijuana.  So, with great delight  I was really happy with the Weed's new trailer for season 6? Because  the Botwin clan are packing their bags and taking their dysfunctional family on the run.

In Season 6, premiering on Monday, August 16 at , the Botwin family will not only encounter new places and new faces, but new identities for the characters themselves as they go into hiding after Shane murdered Pilar.

I am really hoping that this change of scenery will go a long way towards reinventing a show that had so much promise and originality during its first 3 seasons.

TERRENCE HOWARD JOINS "LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES

 Oscar nominee Terrance Howard is the latest actor to join NBC's "Law & Order:Los Angeles as a Deputy District Attorney

The 41-year-old  Howard will share office of Deputy D.A. duties with previously announced cast member Alfred Molina, who will portray Deputy D.A. Morales.


Each star will appear in approximately half of the episodes this season, following earlier seasons of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent. "The initial problem was scheduling, Molina made it very clear that he had commitments that would preclude him from doing all the episodes," Wolf said. "It quickly sort of evolved into a situation that we've utilized before."

REID SCOTT JOINS SHOWTIMES'S "THE BIG C"

 Reid Scott("My Boys")  has landed a recurring role on Showtime's new series "The Big C" 

The handsome 32-year-old  actor will play Dr. Todd, an intelligent and well-trained, but lacks experience oncologist  of Laura Linney's character, Cathy.

"The Big C" follows Cathy, a schoolteacher and suburban mother who tries to rebuild her life after her cancer diagnosis.

Since Scott's role is recurring, it won't conflict with his contract with TBS, which has still not decided whether to renew My Boys for a fifth season (Season 4 premieres July 25).

"The Big C" premieres Wednesday, August 16.

CBS CANCELS "THE BRIDGE"

I have some good news and bad news for fans of the CBS drama "The Bridge"

Bad News


CBS has decided to pull the Saturday night drama after just three episodes.  There is no word on rather CBS will air the 10 remaining episodes at a later date.

Good News


Although the show has been cancelled in the US, it will continue to air in Canada. CTV begin airing the series back in March and completed the season in May.  "The Bridge" was successful enough to garner a second season for Canadian viewers.

What does all this mean?  Since it is highly unlikely that another network would pickup the low rated series, it doesn't look like  US viewers  will see the rest of this season or the second season.

MARY HART TO EXIT "ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT" AFTER 30 SEASON

After 30 seasons with Entertainment Tonight, host Mary Hart will leave the successful syndicated show.

"I've had the privilege of spending 29 years doing something I love — how often does that happen?" Hart, 59, said in a statement. "I only meant to be at ET for three years, suddenly it's almost 30! I've reached a point when I clearly realize it's time for a change. There are many things I want to do in my life and I'd better get on with them."

 Lara Spencer, host of "The Insider" will replace Hart when show kicks off its 30th season on Sept 13.

I really hope this doesn't mean Samantha Harris will replace Spencer on "The Insider".  I seriously mean no disrespect toward Harris , but she is so annoying.

ALFRED MOLINA SIGNS ON TO"LAW & ORDER:LOS ANGELES

Alfred Molina has signed on to star on"Law & Order: Los Angeles as Deputy District Attorney Morales.

"Law & Order" creator Dick Wolf says in a statement, ""I am thrilled that Fred is "LOLA's" Deputy DA. He joins a remarkable list of some of America's greatest character actors like Sam Waterston, Vincent D'Onofrio, Jeff Goldblum, Steven Hill, Dianne Wiest, and Michael Moriarty as stars of "Law & Order"-branded series."

Morales is described as a narcissistic but self-deprecating and altruistic prosecutor, according to casting breakdowns.

COREY STOLL JOINS LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES

Corey Stoll has signed on to play the role of Skeet Ulrich's on-screen detective partner in "Law & Order:Los Angeles..

Stoll  will play Detective Tomas "TJ" Jaruszalski,  TJ is described as a confident Los Angeles native with a disdain for the entertainment industry and an active social life, according to casting breakdowns. He sees the world as a complex place with lots of gray areas, which helps him both get into the heads of criminals and win them over.

 The series premieres Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 10/9c on NBC.

SELENA GOMEZ EXITS "WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACE'

Selena Gomez has decided to exit her highly rated Disney Channel series "Wizards of Waverly Place"

"Unfortunately, I'm doing my last season of my show, which I'm really heartbroken about," Gomez said. "That's gonna be a terrible time for me. I'm gonna do a movie for my show, which I'll be excited to end it with, and then a tour."

So it sounds like fans of the show will  receive a proper ending.

"Wizards of Waverly Place" is an Emmy-winning fantasy program about three siblings who are in training to become wizards.

No premiere date has not been announced for season 4

"ONE TREE HILLS" GETS FULL-SEASON PICKUP

"One Tree Hill" received  a last-minute Season 8 pickup from The CW back in May,  however  a lot of fans were very disappointed to learn that the pickup was for only 13 episodes.
"We don't know if they're going to come back yet for 22 episodes each," Ostroff said in May. "They may. We haven't really talked about exact numbers yet."

 Well fans of the show can finally do the "Happy  Dance" because it has now been confirmed that the show has officially been picked up for a full 22-episode season by The CW.

One Tree Hill premieres Tuesday, September 14 on The CW.

NBC PULLS TONY ROBBIN'S "BREAKTHROUGH WITH TONY ROBBINS"SHOW AFTER TWO EPISODES

NBC has pulled self-help guru Tony Robbins reality show after just two episodes. Four episodes of  "Breakthrough with Tony Robbins"  has yet to air.

Repeats of "Minute to Win It" will replace the cancelled show.
