PRISON BREAK'S WENTWORTH MILLER SIGNS ON FOR "RESIDENT EVIL:AFTERLIFE"

Released by Andy Grieser

Wentworth Miller is trading in his television bona fides to join the cast of "Resident Evil: Afterlife," fourth in the zombie Apocalypse series based on the popular video games. The actor had the lead role in the television series "Prison Break" followed by a multi-episode arc on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."

"Afterlife," the follow-up to 2007's "Resident Evil: Extinction," reunites Milla Jovovich as butt-kicking clone Alice and Ali Larter as human survivor Claire Redfield. Miller will take the role of Claire's brother Chris, a prominent character in the games.

We're interested to see how the principals will come together: Last we saw, Larter's character was leading survivors to a supposed zombie-free zone in Alaska, while Jovovich's Alice was leading a clone army against the evil Umbrella Corporation.

"Afterlife" is scheduled to reach U.S. theaters sometime in the fall of 2010.
